Erica Anderson Named WHAC AT of the Year

Northwestern Ohio's Erica Anderson was awarded the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Athletic Trainer of the Year at the annual league conference held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The award was presented by the AT Chair Peter Benjamin of Concordia and WHAC commissioner Eric Ward.

Anderson has been an integral part of UNOH athletics for eight years working with men's and women's golf and tennis, volleyball and softball for all eight years as well as two years with the cheer program.

"It's an honor to be voted as this year's AT of the year," Anderson said. "There are so many wonderful athletic trainers in our conference providing coverage to our student athletes. It is truly a group effort to keep everyone up and running. I have the best support system in my two co-workers, Jen Pitson and Sam Rightley, as well as former UNOH trainer Aron Downey. I learn and work with the best and am grateful for their support."

Anderson joins fellow AT Jen Pitson (2020) on the list of UNOH trainers honored by the conference.

"We are thrilled that Erica has earned the recognition of AT of the year in the WHAC," added Athletic Director Jen Dervarics. "Day in and day out she has the well-being of our student-athletes at the forefront of her mind and does everything in her power to keep them healthy physically, mentally and emotionally. In addition, she does a tremendous job working with our staff and has become a leading voice at the conference level as well. We are extremely proud of Erica and we are so fortunate to have her as one of our AT's."
