Racers Drop Doubleheader to Seahawks

EMERSON, Ga. – The No. 19 University of Northwestern Ohio Racers and No. 15 Keiser University Seahawks squared off in a second doubleheader in as many days to conclude the early season series on Sunday.

The Seahawks (6-3) took the series along with both games of the day over UNOH (9-4). KU took the opener 6-0 before defeating the Racers 10-5 in the finale.

Rafael Lozada led the Racers at the plate with a pair of singles in game one while both Junior Gomez and Kyle Fisher knocked a home run in game two. Fisher's was a lead-off bomb to in the bottom of the first while Gomez's two-run homer cut the deficit in the sixth, but the next three batters were surrendered to end the momentum.

Mike Alexander (0-1) and Abrahan Flete (0-1) were the pitchers of decision on the day.

UNOH has a week off until its next series in Barbourville, Ky. as the Racers are scheduled to visit Union (Ky.) College for a four-game series. The first doubleheader will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11 while the second will be played the following day.
