CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - It took ten innings to decide a winner in game one with the Tigers walking off 4-3, but Campbellsville finished off game two in seven, 4-2.
Game 1: CAMP 4 UNOH 3
UNOH scored one in the third, one in the fourth and one in the eighth, but Campbellsville got all three back in the home half of the eighth tie the game. After neither team could get a run in the ninth, the game headed to extra innings. The Racers got a runner to third with no outs, but left him stranded as the next three batters when down in order. The Tigers took advantage their next time up, working the bases loaded and bringing home the winning run with an RBI single.
Drake Miller and Tyler Grigalis both went 2-5 at the plate and Eliomar Otero finished 2-4.
Michael Joyce tossed seven innings of scoreless ball giving up just two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts. Jack Olberding and Jeremy Yurcak both pitched just one-third of an inning in relief. Olberding gave up two runs with two walks while Yurcak surrendered one run, one hit and one walk. AJ Buchman (1-2) threw the final inning and two-thirds but gave up the game winning run to take the loss. Buchman finished with two hits given up with two walks and two strikeouts.
Game 2: CAMP 4 UNOH 2
UNOH got on the board first with a RBI groundout from Tyler Grigalis in their first at bat, but Campbellsville hit a two-run homer in the bottom to go up 2-1 after one. The teams combined for just one hit over the next two and a half innings before the Tigers added two more in the home fourth. The 4-1 score held into the seventh giving the Racers one final chance. After Titus Groeneweg doubled down the line, Noah Matheson brough him home but the comeback fell short as UNOH dropped game two, 4-2.
Will Myklebust (0-1) got the start and the loss after going four innings with four runs given up on seven hits with one walk and one strikeout. Nick Johnson, Wyatt Johnson and Eliott Traver combined for the final two innings in relief. N. Johnson gaving up one hit and one walk, W. Johnson walked three with one hit and Traver was clean over the final two-thirds.
