Racers Come From Behind to Sneak Past UM-Dearborn

LIMA, OH - After falling behind 3-0 out of the gate, UNOH trailed into the eighth before rallying to overcome UM-Dearborn in a non-conference bout, 6-5.

The first run for UNOH came in the home third off a Drake Miller solo shot. They added two more thanks to an error in the fifth, but continued to trail into the eighth. After UM-Dearborn added one in the top, the Racers finally got things going with three in the bottom. A single and a hit batter put two runners on, and Darius Freeman doubled up the middle to score the first. Tyler Grigalis hit a sac fly to right field that to bring home the second and an error put UNOH up for the first time, 6-5. The Wolverines went down in order in the ninth giving the Racers the come-from-behind victory.

Drake Miller was the only Racer with multiple hits going 3-5 at the plate with two RBI.

AJ Buchman went three innings off the start giving up three runs on two hits with four walks and five strikeouts. Nick Johnson and Jeremy Yurcak each threw two innings in relief. Johnson gave up one run on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts while Yurcak went hitless with two walks and a strikeout. Eliott Traver (1-1) finished the final two innings and picked up the win giving up one run on two hits with one strikeout.

UNOH will host a single 9-inning game against Miami-Hamilton at Noon on Friday before hitting the road for two against the Harriers on Sunday.
