Racers Run-Rule Harriers 11-1

LIMA, OH - On a rainy Friday afternoon, UNOH baseball pieced together one of their most consistent performances of the young season in an 11-1 win over Miami-Hamilton. The Racers scored at least one run in every at-bat, including a two-home run outing by Titus Groeneweg, while striking out eight as a team with just four total hits given up.

Tyler Grigalis got things started with a triple in the first inning before Eliomar Otero brought him own with a gap-single. Titus Groeneweg followed with his first homer of the day and the Racers led 3-0 after one. Back-to-back wild pitches added two in the second with a Cy Kerber sac fly bringing in another in the third. Three straight walks opened the home fourth to load the bases. Groeneweg and Joskar Feliciano both grounded out but scored runs to put UNOH up 8-1 after four. Alphonso Franks sac flied in the fifth and Groeneweg hit a two-run homer in the sixth to finish the scoring for the Racers. Michael Joyce capped the performance by retiring the side in the seventh to give UNOH the run-rule victory.

Titus Groeneweg led the team with a career high five RBI going 2-4 at the plate. Tyler Grigalis and Noah Matheson both finished with two hits in the game.

AJ Buchman got the start and went two and a third innings giving up one run on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Jeremy Yurcak pitched one and two-thirds hitless innings with no walks and three strikeouts. Michael Joyce (2-0) earned the win after tossing the final three innings with just two hits, no walks and three strikeouts.

UNOH will head down I-75 to face the Harriers again on Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
