LIMA, OH - UNOH scored in all but the first inning, including a five-run fifth, to pull away for an 11-1 win in game one of the day. The consistent offensive flow continued into game two where the Racers scored in all but the final inning to end the day with a 17-0 victory and a 4-0 start in conference play.
The lone Warrior run of the day came off a solo home run in the top of the second, marking the first run of the day. The lead was brief, however, as Tim Hanible drove in the first two runs for UNOH in the bottom with a double to the left center gap. Errors in the third and fourth added two more for the Racers before they exploded for five in the fifth to go up 8-1. Rochester Christian managed just two base runners in the final two frames, both off walks, and UNOH finished with two more in the sixth to win 11-1.
Drake Miller finished a perfect 4-4 in the game setting a new career mark. Noah Matheson and Nolan Hull both went 3-4 with Matheson plating two and Hull bringing in one. Tim Hanible led the team with four RBI on 2-3 hitting. Will Myklebust (2-1) threw his first complete game scattering just four hits over seven innings. Myklebust gave up one run while striking out six and walking two.
UNOH matched their runs to the first four innings and took a commanding 10-0 lead after four. The Warriors struggled to get through the fifth inning burning through two pitches that combined for four walks, four wild pitches and one hit batter in the inning. The Racers also took advantage of a passed ball and a hit batter while ripping two doubles, a triple and a single for a seven-run frame and 17-0 lead. Six of the final seven batters for Rochester Christian were retired in order to complete the weekend sweep to begin WHAC play.
Six different Racers recorded multiple hits with Tim Hanible leading the way with a perfect 3-3 outing, matching his career best. Darius Freeman also finished with three hits on his four at-bats plating a team high four RBI. Sinjon Bobolia (2-1) was strong through six innings to earn the win. He gave up just two hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Nick Johnson tossed the final inning striking out two of four batters faced.
Winners of seven straight, the Racers hit the road next for a four-game series at Madonna March 23-24.
