Healy, Cabell Shine Again as Racers Roll Through Lourdes

TOLEDO, OH - UNOH baseball picked another pair of victories Friday afternoon blanking Lourdes twice 10-0 and 12-0 in the first two of four against the Gray Wolves. The Racers dominated on both sides of the ball with two complete game performances on the mound that saw 21 total strikeouts and just one walk while blasting five home runs in the doubleheader.

Eleven of the Racers 22 runs came via the long ball including eight of ten in game one. Eliomar Otero set the tone right away going yard on the first pitch of the day followed by Cesar Grau just two batters later. Zach Grigalis made it a four run game with a two-out RBI single in the second as the offense kept rolling. Grau launched his second home run of the game in the fourth that added three more and Tyler Huff made it 8-0 with a suicide squeeze in the sixth. After Fabian Romero led off the final inning with a double, Nolan Hull made it a four home run game for the Racers to finish off the scoring.

Daniel Healy (6-1) earned his WHAC leading sixth win of the year in a brilliant complete game shutout, his third of the season. He scattered six hits over his seven innings but only allowed two runners to reach second as he struck out seven and ushered no free passes.

Nolan Hull picked up in game two where he left off in game one cranking a three run bomb to open the scoring in the second. A four-hit fourth resulted in another four runs and UNOH went up comfortably 7-0. Things only got worse for the Gray Wolves' pitching as they began the top of the fifth with two walks and a hit batter that loaded the bases and set up another big frame for the Racers. Hull drove in two more with a double followed by an error and a sacrifice fly from Eliomar Otero. Tyler Huff capped the scoring with the team's ninth extra base hit of the day scoring two with a two out RBI double.

Zach Cabell (4-2) put together the best outing of his career in one of the most dominant pitching displays in program history. In his third complete game shutout of the season, the senior right-hander fanned 14 batters while allowing just three hits and one walk over seven innings. His 14 strikeouts mark the third most in a game in program history and the most since the WHAC Tournament Championship in 2021 (Jake Carlsen - 14).

Cesar Grau and Nolan Hull led the way offensively combining to go 8-12 with four home runs and 14 total RBI between them. Hull also added five runs and four walks to one of the best single day scoring lines of his career. Eliomar Otero needed just two hits to bring in four runs of his own with Tyler Huff adding two more RBI on a 3-7 day at the dish that included a pair of doubles.

The second half of the four-game series was originally scheduled to take place tomorrow, but due to forecasted weather has been moved to Monday, April 6, at 1:00 PM.
