WHAC Releases Statement on Updated Baseball Tournament Seeding
With the conference tournament set to begin tomorrow, the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released a statement Tuesday in regard to changes in the official seeding and matchups for round one.
Official Statement from the WHAC: The WHAC office was notified on Tuesday of a self-reported violation regarding an ineligible player during the regular season. In anticipation of upcoming forfeited contests resulting from this violation, Rochester Christian has withdrawn from the tournament. Siena Heights becomes the #6 seed, Lawrence Tech the #7 and Cornerstone enters the tournament as the #8 seed.
What it means for UNOH
The Racers were originally set to take on Lawrence Tech to open the tournament play on Wednesday, April 29, but will now square off against Cornerstone who moved into the new eight-seed spot.
Other Changes
Both matchups on the opposite side of the bracket were also adjusted and now see two-seed Indiana Tech versus seven-seed Lawrence Tech followed by three-seed Madonna against six-seed Siena Heights.
Tournament locations and times remain the same with first pitch for UNOH in game one scheduled for 12:00 PM Wednesday. Four-seed Cleary and five-seed Aquinas take the field in game two slated to begin at 4:00 PM. The winners and losers of each game will face each other on Thursday.
