Honinger Begins Fall with WHAC Golfer of the Week Award
For the first time, the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference awarded golfers of the week during the fall portion of the season. Northwestern Ohio's Noah Honinger used his impressive performance at the UPIKE Fall Invitational to bag the inaugural award, the fourth of his career.
Honinger, a senior for the Racers, carded a 7-under 65 in the first round of the tournament, one stroke off his own program record set last season. He followed up with a even-par 72 in round two to finish in a tie at the top of the individual board with a 137. Honinger missed out on the individual medal after losing on the second playoff hole but his 7-under 36-hole score was the second lowest of his career and the third lowest in program history. Honinger helped his Racers top the team standings with a program-best 12-under par.
Honinger joins fellow Racer Ebba Nordin to give UNOH the weekly sweep of the Golfer of the Week awards.
