Men's Golf Places Second, Turner Wins Individual Title at WHAC Championship
AUGUSTA, MI - UNOH men's golf fell five strokes short of defending their 2023 WHAC Championship with Lawrence Tech taking their third crown in four years. The Blue Devils finished with an 892 for the tournament with the Racers right behind them with an 897.
Luke Turner paced the field leading wire-to-wire to win his first individual medal of the season. He shot a tournament low 1-under 70 in round one following with rounds of 75 and 74 for a final 219 (+6), two strokes up on second place. The first place finish earns Turner an automatic qualification to the national tournament as an individual on May 21-24 in Dalton, Georgia.
Noah Honinger and Guillermo Garron finished in a tie for 13th both with 228 for the 54-hole tournament. Honinger carded 78, 76, 74 and Garron went 76, 74, 78. Hayden Hah rounded out the team scoring shooting 72, 85 and 75 for a tournament score of 232. Frederik Voss competed in the first round shooting an 82 with Adrian Martin substituting in rounds two and three with 75 and 80.
