Men's Golf Finishes Fourth in Tough Music City Collegiate
DICKSON, TN - In a field that included seven top 25 teams, three teams receiving votes and NCAA Division II Treveca Nazarene, UNOH men's golf put together another impressive performance finishing fourth out of 19 teams at the Music City Collegiate.
UNOH shot rounds of 298, 288, and 292 to finish five strokes back from third with an 878 (+14). No. 13 OUAZ took the top spot as the only team to shoot under par with NCAA DII Treveca Nazarene finishing second and No. 6 Lindsey Wilson in third. The Racers topped No. 15 Cumberland, No. 17 Truett McConnell, No. 19 William Carey, No. 21 Campbellsville and No. 22 Point as well as Cumberlands, Indiana Wesleyan and Tennessee Wesleyan who are all receiving votes in the national coaches' poll.
Luke Turner led the way for UNOH carding a 72, 70 and 75 for a 217 (+1) and a top 15 finish. Jose Vargas also placed in the top 15 with a 218 (+2) after rounds of 75, 72 and 71.
Oliver Rogers shot 75 in round one before back-to-back rounds of 73 for a 221 (+5) while Oscar Lind matched Rogers' second and third rounds after an 81 in the first to finish with a 227 (+11). Guillermo Garron rounded out the team scoring with a 237 (+18) shooting 76, 78 and 80.
The Racers will play one more event before wrapping up the fall half of the season heading to North Carolina for the St. Andrews Fall Men's Classic October 14-15.
