UNOH Motorsports Team Takes on Memorial Cup
Drivers in New Places Kick off Holiday Weekend at Limaland
LIMA, Ohio (May 23, 2025) The UNOH Motorsports Team kicked off Memorial Day weekend this past Friday, running in the Memorial Cup races at Limaland Motorsports Park. The Team's driver lineup changed this week, now with two UMP Modified and three Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks. Eric Kinney, a first-year Team member, made his UNOH driver debut in his first stock car effort of 2025.
Racing Modifieds for UNOH on Friday were Aidan Hinds defending his May 16th win in the No. 01 and Dylan Drake making his Modified debut in the No. 11. Houston Null, Tyler Matheny and Eric Kinney piloted the No. 1, No. 01 and No. 00 Thunderstocks, respectively.
Hinds started with winning speed in the Heat races, pulling off a win from the pole in Modified Heat Three. Drake's first Mod Heat had him starting fifth and keeping pace for all eight laps to finish in the same fifth position.
In the first Thunderstocks Heat, Houston Null and Eric Kinney started third and fifth respectively. Both drivers gained ground quickly, with Kinney scoring a solid fourth in his first Limaland effort and Null securing another solid Heat win for UNOH. Tyler Matheny finished fifth in the second Heat, placing all UNOH Stock drivers in the Top Ten to start the A Feature later that night.
The Modified Feature was a hard-fought battle for the No. 01 of Hinds and the No. 11 of Drake. Both UNOH drivers raced in heavy traffic for the entirety of the 20-lap race, with Hinds securing another Top Ten in the sixth position and Dylan Drake finishing 14th, losing just one spot after starting 13th.
Later, in the Thunderstocks Feature, all three UNOH cars started in the Top Ten with Null starting sixth, Kinney seventh and Matheny tenth. All three drivers made moves, with the Nos. 1, 00 and 01 running three-in-a-row for a handful of laps. Midway through the race, unforeseen engine issues mired the No. 01 of Tyler Matheny and ended his promising run for the night. After 15 laps under the lights, Eric Kinney and Houston Null finished with a pair of solid Top Tens with the No. 00 in fifth and the No. 1 in sixth.
The next race at Limaland Motorsports Park for UNOH will be on Friday, May 30th with gates opening at 5pm. The Keysor Memorial races are stacked with the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints, Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series, UMP Modifieds, Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks and Dirt Track Truck Series.
