UNOH Motorsports Team Wins Again with Strong Showing
Driver Aidan Hinds Wins Second Modified Feature, Stock Cars Show Winning Speed
LIMA, Ohio (June 6, 2025) The UNOH Motorsports Team started June off strong in the K&L Ready Mix/Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial races this past Friday, June 6. The Team brought two Bath Masters UMP Modifieds and three Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks to their quarter-mile home track, with drivers in both classes having impressive runs. Aidan Hinds of the No. 01 Modified took home yet another trophy in a hard-won battle for his second win of the season.
Racing the Modifieds for UNOH on Friday were Aidan Hinds in the No. 01 and Dylan Drake in the No. 11. Houston Null, Tyler Matheny and Eric Kinney drove the No. 1, No. 01 and No. 00 Thunderstocks again this weekend.
Hinds started the night off with blistering pace, running fastest in qualifying and passing three other Modifieds to win the first Heat. Driver Eric Kinney of the No. 00 also put his name on the board in Thunderstock qualifying by running second fastest out of sixteen cars. The UNOH Stock drivers also finished well in their Heat races, with each driver keeping or gaining position to finish in the top five in the second Heat.
In the Modified Feature, Hinds was slated to start sixth despite his Heat win based on inversion rules. With proven winners starting ahead of him, it would be a difficult hill for the Ohio driver to climb to reach the win. Dylan Drake in the No. 11 started deep in the field, gathering speed and looking to pass multiple cars before a wreck early on collected the No. 11 to no fault of his own.
After the incident, Hinds was able to rally and push the No. 01 Modified to its limits to pass five cars over the course of the Feature. Once he passed the 3W car for first, the No. 01 pulled away from the pack and handily took his second win of the 2025 season. After winning from the pole back on May 16th, this win was even more hard-fought for Hinds, proving that the team and the driver could set up and run a car that is able to both outwit and out speed its competitors.
The Team once again met Aidan in the infield, celebrating an even greater sense of accomplishment after being able to build upon their previous win. Hinds thanked his team and congratulated President Jarvis on his 50th anniversary with the school which also happened to fall on June 6.
After the race, the Motorsports Media Team discussed the win with Hinds and two of his crew members: Crew Chief Paden Hines and Right Rear Mechanic/Welder Rodney "RJ" Seibles.
The Modified crews are made up of second-, third-, and fourth-year Team members. When asked about how that level of experience translates into on-track success, Crew
Chief Hines said, "Working on a Modified team is a huge step forward in learning and gaining knowledge to help us succeed at school and after we graduate. Having a crew that works well together and knows what needs to be done week to week helps us all have a smooth race night and be successful."
"Experience definitely contributes to our success," said driver Hinds. "Having people on our team that not only have a passion for racing but also want to learn about it is definitely helpful. Having Paden as a Crew Chief is great not only because of his understanding of dirt cars but also of track conditions. RJ has put in the most effort that I've seen out of any crew member on the team. He does the job that nobody wants to do and really puts in the hours at the shop to make sure that this car is 100% mechanically sound for every race!"
Seibles added, "First, it is a team effort, and second, everybody works their tail off to get there. Once you win one time you will always want to win again and the memory is built up on those late-night shop days. The work all pays off and we just try to get better every weekend."
The Thunderstock Feature happened later that night, with Houston Null in the No. 1 starting on pole, Eric Kinney in the No. 00 starting sixth and Tyler Matheny in the No. 01 lining up tenth. All three UNOH Stocks ran quick, with Null especially showing both speed and confidence in fending off competitors. However, a multi-car incident led to the No. 1 getting spun and losing positions which he was unable to regain before the checkered flag flew. At the end of the night, the No. 00 finished in a respectable fifth with the No. 01 in ninth and the No. 1 in tenth.
The UNOH Motorsports Team will run its next races on Friday, June 13th for "Modified Mayhem" night. This event will include racing from the USAC D2 Midgets, UMP Modifieds, Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks and Dirt Track Truck Series. As always, gates to Limaland Motorsports Park open at 5 p.m. on race day. Make sure to follow the Team on social media for updates regarding race days, special events, and driver lineups all season long.
Congratulations AGAIN to Aidan Hinds, the No. 01 UMP Modified Team, and the entire UNOH Motorsports Team for their hard work and impressive second win for the 2025 Limaland season!
