LIMA, OH - The UNOH College Soccer Showcase kicked off the 2023 season with UNOH (0-1) taking on Baker (3-0) for the first time since 2019. The Wildcats proved to be too much for the Racers taking the match 3-0.

 

The game was evenly played for almost 30 minutes, but Baker broke through in the 29th minute on their first and only shot-on-goal of the half. Despite chances, UNOH couldn't beat the keeper with four shots-on-goal in the half but no goals. 

The Wildcats controlled most of the second half and didn't allow the Racers to get anything on target through the frame. Baker's second came in the 77th minute with the final dagger in the 82nd.

 

Both teams will be in action again Saturday, August 26, with the second half of the Showcase taking place at Racer Field. The Racers will look to rebound against (RV) Vanguard in the first game of the day at 11:00a. Baker squares off with Cumberlands in game two at 1:30. The Patriots and the Lions finished even at 1-1 in their matchup Thursday.
