LIMA, OH - After playing 45 minutes of scoreless soccer, UNOH rattled off four second half goals to take down Defiance, 4-0.
It took a corner kick in the 54th minute to finally get the Racers on the board with Jayson Janofski linking with Josh Pearson who headed the ball into the back of the net. Leonard Assouan beat three defenders off the dribble in the 65th minute before rocketing the ball past the keeper to give UNOH a 2-0 lead. The Racers continued to dominate the pace of the game over the next 20 minutes and blew the game open with a third and a fourth late in the day. Eguzki Hashimoto played a ball up and over his mark in the 80th minute before feeding Ryan Hennessy cutting into the box. Hennessy side stepped a defender catching the keeper off guard and finished strong from short range. The final mark came just two minutes later as Hashimoto used some fancy footwork in the box one-on-one with a defender sending him the wrong way beating the keeper low.
Jack Cook (1-1-0) was only needed twice but made both saves over 90 minutes to earn the win.
UNOH will head north next to take on (RV) Aquinas Saturday, October 5.
