UNOH Splits Again on Day Three of Florida Trip

Game 1: MVNU 6 UNOH 2

The game started as a pitcher's duel with just six combined hits through four and a half scoreless innings. An error and a single brought home the first run of the game putting the Cougars up 1-0 heading into the sixth. Anna Ankney got the Racers on the board with a two-run homer with two outs in the top, but the defense broke down in the bottom as MVNU translated four errors into five runs to go up 6-1. UNOH couldn't get any offense going their next time up and the Cougars avenged their only loss of the season less than 24 hours before.

Tess Denning finished 2-3 in the game and Anna Ankney added two RBI.

Carlie Hanes (5-2) went the distance giving up six runs, none earned, off seven hits with two strikeouts and a walk.

The next two runs of the game came off the bat of Ankney again. This time it was a two-run homer in the third that put UNOH up 4-0. The Racers added an insurance run in the fourth thanks to a RBI-single by Chloe Goulter to go up 5-0. The teams combined for just two hits the rest of the way as UNOH took their seventh win in their last nine games.
