Wooten Voted WHAC Pitcher of the Week

UNOH freshman Lanie Wooten has picked up her first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Pitcher of the Week award after picking up a pair of wins last week that included her first collegiate no-hitter.

Wooten helped her Racers pick up their first win of the season in a 3-1 victory at Lindsey Wilson Tuesday. She pitched six and two-thirds of the seven innings scattering five hits with two walks and three strikeouts for her first career win.

Wooten then followed up with a stellar performance at Georgetown where she completely shut down the Tigers her first career No-No in an 8-0 win. She struck out three and walked just one over five innings to become just the second freshman to record a no-hitter in program history.

For the week, Wooten finished with a 0.60 ERA and .69 WHIP over 11.2 innings of work.
