Keighley Repeats as WHAC Player of the Week
After earning the award a week ago with a monster six-game stretch, Northwestern Ohio's Dani Keighley followed up with her second WHAC Player of the Week honor on Monday doing a full week's worth of damage in just one game.
In a weather shortened WHAC Finale, Keighley erupted with three home runs and a double for a perfect 4-4 hitting performance in a 17-1 win over UM-Dearborn. Her three homers tie the program's all-time record, a feat accomplished for just the third time ever, adding a double in the third for a record 14 total bases in the game. Keighley drove in a remarkable eight RBI in just the one contest which tops the previous record of seven set in 2015.
The game marked Keighley's eight straight with at least two RBI extending her hitting streak to 14 games with multiple hits in ten of those 14. She finished the week hitting .571 with a 2.000 slugging percentage.
