Lady Racers Win IU Southeast Championship

The UNOH Lady Racers finished off their weekend tournament with a showdown with University of Virginia-Wise. The Lady Racers used a balance attack and made clutch free throws to finish off UV-Wise by a final of 81-78.
Despite being outrebounded and outshot, the Lady Racers found away to remain unbeaten in 09-10. The Lady Racers only managed 8 steals for the game, which is far below their season average.
Leading the way for the Lady Racers was Junior Molly French as she totaled 16 points on the afternoon. Sophomore Amanda Francis had an all-around game as she scored 15 points, had 7 rebounds, and logged 4 steals.
Junior's Alexa Kennedy and Kelly Warris score 14 and 10 points each to help lead the balanced attack. Junior Jenna Blackburn totaled 8 points on the day as well. Junior Tara Olberding and Freshman Shaye Warman each scored 6 points, and Junior Ashley Rothney scored 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. To finish out the total for UNOH was the Lady Racers leading returning scorer in Sophomore Ashley Jackson. Jackson was in foul troube all afternoon and could only manage 2 points, but still dished 5 assists.
With the win, the Lady Racers move to 3-0 on the season. The Lady Racers are off to their best start in the short three years of the program. UNOH will be back in action on Friday, November 20th as they will face OSU-Lima Rhodes State on the campus of UNOH. The game is set to tip at 5:30 pm.
