Racers Open Season at Full Speed with 114-82 Win

LIMA, OH - In the opening game of the 2023-24 season, UNOH led wire-to-wire while hanging 114 in a 32-point victory over Great Lakes Christian. It is the program's third most ever scored in a game, it's first triple-digit performance since January 7, 2015 (107) and it's most since November 25, 2014 (126).

 

The game stayed close through the first quarter of play but quickly ballooned to 18 by halftime. The lead continued to grow over the final two frames before reaching it's height of 32 by the final buzzer.

Danae Williams earned a debut-day double-double off the bench with 23 points and ten assists in the game. Williams shot 8-13 (63%) from the field making three long-range shots and all four free throw attempts. Alysia Lawson added 21 points while shooting 9-12 (75%) from the field and 3-4 from outside. Olivia Thompson also finished in double-figures, scoring twelve on 5-13 (39%) shooting. Alycia Patterson and Alayha Allen each pulled down six rebounds to lead the team.

As a team, UNOH made a total of 43 field goals in the game, the fourth most all-time and the program's highest since November 25, 2014 (53). The Racers shot 57% from the field, the ninth best in program history, while knocking down 14 of 34 three-point attempts, the fifth most ever. UNOH also combined for 27 assists on the night which is the sixth most ever and the most since November 24, 2015 (29).

 

The Racers will head out for a one-game road trip at Ohio Christian Wednesday, November 1, before returning home for five straight beginning November 4.
