UNOH Hangs 121 in Huge 52-Point Win Over PSUGA
LIMA, OH - UNOH women's basketball hit triple digits for the second time this season, exploding for the second most points in program history (126) in a 121-69 win over Penn State Greater Allegheny.
UNOH opened with 38 points in the first quarter, their most in any period this season, and never looked backed. In one of the best offensive halves in program history, the Racers road into halftime up 67-30. They continued to pull away throughout the half putting up another 28 in the third and 26 in the fourth for the 121-69 home win.
The 52-point margin of victory is third largest in the history of the program and the most since 2010. It is the second biggest for the Racers in The Garage (79).
Seven different Racers scored double-figures including all four players off the bench. Alysia Lawson and Alycia Patterson led the team with 22 points each. Lawson shot 10-15 (67%) from the field and Patterson hit six of nine field goals and all six free throw attempts. Patterson also tallied six assists and six rebounds with three steals. Danae Williams added 18 on eight of 16 shooting while dishing out eight more assists. Williams now has 25 assists in five games this season putting tied for 15th in the nation. Sophia Ojhammar led off the bench with 14 points, Olivia Thompson had 13, Lyric Scott had twelve and Trinity Black-Raines finished with eleven, all season highs.
As a team, UNOH shot 51% from the field and 43% from outside. They combined to make 44 total field goals, the program's fourth highest and most since November 25, 2014 (53) while hitting 16 three-pointers, the second most in program history and one off the all-time record. The Racers racked up 29 assists in the game, the fifth most ever and most since November 24, 2015 (29).
UNOH will open conference play their next time out when they head to Cornerstone on Saturday, November 18, for a 1:00 PM tipoff.
