GRAND RAPIDS, MI - UNOH women's basketball began the new year with a trip to Aquinas but couldn't keep up as the Saints pulled away from the Racers, 82-51.
UNOH held a brief lead early, but Aquinas got hot and jumped out to a 42-29 lead at halftime. The Saints continued where they left off, outscoring the Racers 23-8 in the third finishing off with a 17-14 fourth.
Alysia Lawson led the team with 17 points and Danae Williams added 15 off the bench. Alayha Allen grabbed a team high seven rebounds while Alycia Patterson ended with ten points with six boards.
The Racers had a difficult night from the field shooting just 27% as a team and 20% from outside.
UNOH will play their third of a four-game road trip on Saturday when they head to The Don to take on Lawrence Tech at 1:00 PM.
