Racers Rebound with Runaway Win Over UC-Clermont

LIMA, OH - After taking their first loss of the season two days ago, UNOH women's basketball responded with a resounding 105-65 win over UC-Clermont Monday night in The Garage.

With a cold start for both teams, the game sat 6-5 in favor of the Cougars three minutes into the night. UNOH began to find their momentum outscoring UC-Clermont 13-2 the rest of the quarter and didn't trail again. The lead sat at 22 coming out of halftime and a 36 point frame expanded the distance to 35 as the Racers coasted to the big win.

UNOH had to overcome a 39-point-ten-rebound performance from UC-Clermont's Tyra Murphy, but the Racers held the rest of the team to just 29% from the field and forced 18 turnovers in the game. UNOH turned the ball over a season low five times while grabbing a season high 56 rebounds, the program's most since 2017.

Alysia Lawson led the team for the seventh time in eight games scoring 25 points, moving her into second place all-time with 1,213 career points. Alycia Patterson came off the bench to record her second career double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds on the night, both season highs. Her seven made three-pointers are a career high and match the program record, making her the second Racer this season to hit that number. Jayci Allen joined her 20-point teammates with 22 of her own hitting 53% from the field.

UNOH begins conference play with four straight road games beginning Wednesday night. The Racers will head to Defiance to face the Yellowjackets for the first time followed by trips to Aquinas, Madonna and Cleary.
