Racers Snap Losing Skid with Win Over Lourdes

LIMA, OH - UNOH women's basketball picked up a much-needed win over Lourdes on Saturday, 66-55, to end their four-game losing streak.

It was a difficult start to the day for UNOH as the converted just one field goal in the first quarter but managed to keep themselves in the game thanks to 8-8 shooting at the free throw line. The Racers managed to flip the script in the second holding Lourdes to just 19% from the field while hitting 54% themselves to turn a six-point deficit into a 29-28 lead at halftime. UNOH control the game in the second half and didn't trail again finishing off a 66-55 victory.

Alysia Lawson led all scorers with 23 points shooting 8-23 (35%) from the field and a perfect 7-7 from the charity stripe. Jayci Allen scored eleven and pulled down eight rebounds and Alycia Patterson chipped in ten and six with three assists, two steals and the first block of her career. Alayha Allen grabbed a game high ten rebounds while scoring nine points and blocking three shots.

It was a tough shooting night for both teams as they combined to hit just 33% from the field but the Racers' missed just one attempt from the free throw line shooting 96% as a team (21-22), the program's best performance since 2022.

UNOH will hit the road next for back-to-back games against Cornerstone January 18 and Lawrence Tech January 22.
