Women's Golf Places Fifth in First Spring Tournament
SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY - UNOH women's golf traveled to Kentucky for their first event of the spring season earning a fifth-place finish in the 54-hole Heritage Hill Collegiate.
The Racers posted their lowest 54-hole tournament of the season with their three lowest team rounds to start the spring. UNOH matched their season best with a 340 in each of the first two rounds before putting together their best of the year with a 328 in the final round. Their tournament total of 1008 tops the team's previous season best by 35 strokes.
Sharifah Binyahya led the team with an 18th place finish in the field of 52 carding 81's in each round for a 243 total. Kudzai Mandava finished right behind with a 246 after shooting 84, 84, 78.
Kayla Watkins came in with a tournament score of 253 that included matching her season low with an 80 in round three. Kenadie Daeger shot a season low 266 to round out the team scoring and Grace Weikle finished with a 340 playing as an individual
Next up for the Racers will be the Patriot Invitational played at the London Country Club in London Kentucky March 31-April 1.
