Women's Golf Earns Team Title at Indiana Tech Intercollegiate
FORT WAYNE, IN - UNOH women's golf concluded their fall portion of the season with a dominating team performance at the Indiana Tech Intercollegiate on Thursday and Friday.
The Racers led wire-to-wire to top second place Indiana Tech by 130 strokes scoring rounds of 331 and 321 for a total of 652 and their second team title of the fall.
Molly Douglas led the way with an opening round 74, her lowest of the year, followed by a 77 to finish 13-strokes better than teammate Kudzai Mandava for her first career individual medal. Mandava finished in a tie for second with another Racer, Luise Pekoll, shooting 85 and 79 for a 164 and her fourth top five in four events. Pekoll carded an 81 and 83 for her first career top five finish.
Kayla Watkins sat in sixth with a 173 and Riley Daeger earned a 205 that was good for eleventh to round out team scoring.
Mandava heads into the winter break as the team's leader averaging 78.33 finishing no lower than third in any event. Douglas closed the gap on her teammate and now sits second on the team with an 79.00 average halfway through her freshman campaign.
