Women's Soccer Dominates Olivet Nazarene
Camilla Andersen (JR/Horsens, Denmark) recorded a hat trick and Evdokia Popadinova (SO/Hadzhidimovo, Bulgaria) added two goals and three assists as the #2-ranked Northwestern Ohio women's soccer team dominated Olivet Nazarene 7-0 Saturday afternoon at Racer Stadium.
After a scoreless 20 minutes, Andersen gave UNOH the lead for good at the 20:06 mark of the first half as she scored her fifth goal of the season off of passes from Popadinova and Robyn Moodaly (SR/East London, South Africa).
Moodaly also assisted the second goal of the contest for Northwestern Ohio as Popadinova scored at the 36:42 mark, giving her three assists on the season.
Andersen extended the margin to 4-0 with a pair of goals early in the second half at the 49:27 and 52:06 marks, giving her the hat trick and seven goals altogether on the year. Popadinova assisted on both scores, giving her six assists on the season.
It was the first hat trick for Andersen since she also had three goals against Lawrence Tech on October 26, 2016.
Popadinova picked up her fifth goal of the year at the 56:28 mark as Laura Condon (FR/Le Bez, France) notched her third assist.
Two freshmen rounded out the scoring with their first collegiate goals in Kate Agyemang (FR/Kumasi, Ghana) at the 84:49 mark and Rikke Sevecke (FR/Nykobing, Denmark) at the 87:15 mark. Bogca Horvath (SO/Budapest, Hungary) assisted both goals, giving her three on the season.
Goalkeeper Romane Salvador (FR/Lyon, France) notched two saves in earning her fourth shutout of the year.
The Racers outshot the Tigers 18-5, including 11-2 on shots on goal.
UNOH (5-1-1) opens Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 23, with a noon match at Aquinas.
