Women's Soccer: Nine Racers Win Post-Season Honors
Nine members of the UNOH women's soccer team were recognized as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced it's 2020-21 post-season awards Saturday.
Defender Karabo Dhlamini (FR/Johannesburg, South Africa) was named to the First Team and was selected as the Newcomer of the Year in the conference. Midfielder Agnes Stefansdottir (JR/Grenevik, Iceland) was named First Team along with the All-Academic Team. Forward Ariana Mondiri (FR/Evry, France ) was also named First Team All-Conference.
The versitile Midfielder/Defender Andrea Ruiz (SO/Madrid, Spain ) was given Second Team All-Conference.
Three freshmen defenders were also named to the All-Newcomer Team: Shakira O'Malley (FR/Cape Town, South Africa ), Hedda Isaksson (FR/Uppsala, Sweden ) and Annika Dincher (FR/Saarbruecken, Germany )
Off the field, forward Yuna Akiyama (FR/Tokyo, Japan) was chosen for the Champions of Character Team.
The lone senior on the team, Midfielder Viviana Mireles (SR/Holland, MI), was named to the All-Academic Team.
The Racers finished the regular season 7-2 and 7-2 in the WHAC
