SPRING ARBOR, MI - UNOH women's soccer couldn't slow down the defending national champions in a matchup against one of the nation's top offenses. Spring Arbor came into the game outscoring their opponents 31-0 and, despite the Racers notching the first goal of the season against the Cougars, overpowered UNOH 4-1.
Spring Arbor scored early in the 6th minute, but UNOH kept them at bay until the 44th minute when the Cougars scored their second to lead 2-0 at halftime. That score held until late when the reigning champs scored two in just 70 seconds with just a few minutes to play to blow the game open. The Racers used a late foul to score off a free kick from Patricia Blazquez to Anne Sjolte for her second goal of the season and the first given up by the Cougars in six matches.
Sophia Eisner (2-2-0) made two saves but gave up the first two goals to take the loss. Mireia Queralt took over goal duties in the second half giving up the final two goals of the game.
UNOH will open conference play their next time out on the road at Siena Heights Saturday, September 23, with kickoff slated for 4:00 PM.
