Blazquez Hat Trick as Racers Blank Cleary 5-0

LIMA, OH - UNOH women's soccer kept their hot streak alive staying unbeaten in their last five with a 5-0 win over Cleary.

It didn't take long to get the scoring started with Lorna Campos connecting with Patricia Blazquez less than five minutes into the match. Blazquez was just getting started as she headed in her second just 71 seconds later on a Vivian Permonen cross from the right wing. One more time it was Blazquez using her head again, this time on a cross that came from the left wing off the foot of Hedda Isaksson. It is the first career hat trick for Blazquez with her three goals coming in just three minutes and five seconds of game time. UNOH got one more just before half as Anne Sjolte took a through ball from Nanna Rosengreen on a counter and finished past the keeper to lead 4-0 at the break.

Chances continued to come in the second half, but the Racers needed almost 47 minutes to net the final goal of the match. For the second time in the match, Nanna Rosengreen set up a teammate sending it to Holly Tyrrell just in front of the keeper's box who flicked it into the back of the net.

Reigning NAIA Defensive Player of the Week Mireia Queralt (5-1-2) played the first 45 minutes to pick up the win but was never needed in front of goal. Sophia Eisner took over in the second half but also was not needed. The two combined for the team's fourth straight clean sheet and fifth of the campaign.

The Racers' five goals is a season high while also racking up a season high 28 shots with twelve on goal. Conversely, UNOH didn't allow a single shot or cornerkick in the game, both firsts this season.

UNOH will stay home to take on Cornerstone Saturday, October 14, with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 PM.
