Women's Soccer Blanks Holy Cross in Season Debut

NOTRE DAME, IN - UNOH women's soccer completed a successful start to the 2025 campaign Saturday afternoon with a strong 2-0 victory at Holy Cross.

Playing away from home didn't seem bother bother the Racers as they dominated the day from start to finish. They found the back of the for the first time this season in the 22nd minute after a heavy press forced a keeper mishap and set up an easy tap in goal for Katie West from a deflected clearance attempt. UNOH put five other shots on goal in the first half but the Saints' keeper kept them in the match and held the score at 1-0 heading into halftime.

Things tightened up in the second 45 but consistent pressure by the Racers finally paid off on their sixth corner kick of the match. Svenja Jorg took the corner and dropped a beauty into the box finding the head of Judy McIntosh. The ball played straight to Celia Catalan Keck who finished past the keeper for a decisive 2-0 victory.

The Holy Cross keeper had a brilliant match despite the work of her teammates making nine saves as the Racers peppered eleven of 13 total on goal while holding the Saints to just two shots that both missed the mark.

UNOH will have a tough test their next time out when they take a trip to Marion, Ind. to face No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday.
