Karlsson Awarded NAIA Offensive Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, MO - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Tuesday that Northwestern Ohio's Mathilda Berg Karlsson has been named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week after snapping the program's single game points record last Wednesday.
Karlsson toppled the 12-year old record against Indiana Tech scoring or assisting on eight of her team's nine goals for twelve points in the match. She also became just the fifth player in program history to net four times in a single match and the first since 2021.
She finished the regular season on top of the WHAC in goals (13), assists (11) and total points (37) and marks the first time a Racer player has recorded double-digit goals and assists in a season since 2019 (Kate Agyemang - 18g,12a).
It is the program's first national offensive award since 2021 (Ariana Mondiri) with Karlsson becoming just the fifth Racer player to earn that honor.
