WHAC Releases Women's Tennis All-Conference Honors
UNOH women's tennis was well represented in the 2024-25 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) season awards picking up Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year honors. The Racers also placed three on first team singles and four on first team doubles with six landing All-Academic honors, the program's most ever in a single season.
Agathe Vaillant was voted the WHAC Player of the Year, the team's second consecutive and fifth all-time, while also being named First Team Singles and First Team Doubles. Vaillant finished the regular season 15-1 in singles, including a perfect 5-0 in conference play, with her only loss of the season coming to No. 3 Lindsey Wilson.
Ekaterina Orlova became the program's third ever Newcomer of the Year, and second consecutive, while also picking up First Team Singles and First Team Doubles. Orlova finished her WHAC singles matchups 5-0 going 1-0 on the first line and 4-0 on the second. She went 18-5 overall in singles this season.
Head Coach Jeff Brown was named WHAC Coach of the Year for the second time in two seasons leading his Racers to a repeat regular season championship with a perfect 5-0 record.
Telma Herreros earned her first First Team honors landing on both the singles and doubles teams while Munisa Ashurbekova also picked up her first First Team Doubles Award. Margarita Tatur rounded out the All-Conference honors being named Second Team Singles.
Along with the All-Conference awards, the WHAC also announced its All-Academic and Champions of Character teams. Vaillant and Abigail Beck both picked up their second honor with Ashurbekova, Orlova, Herreros and Maggie Barnett earning the honor for the first time.
Beck was chosen as the UNOH representative on the Champions of Character Team for the second consecutive season.
