Bio

William "Bill" Bonham enters his second season at the helm of UNOH Volleyball after taking over the position in the spring of 2025. In his first campaign, Bonham's Racers went 5-25 overall and 2-18 in conference play.

He joined UNOH after a 30-year coaching career through high school, collegiate, and club volleyball. Most recently, Bonham led St. Johns River State College in Florida earning a 43-26 indoor record over two seasons with five All-Conference and three All-Region players. His 2023 Women's Beach Volleyball Vikings were the NJCAA National Runners-Up producing four All-American, six All-Conference, and five All-Region players.

As assistant coach for the m.71 Mintonette Sports & Volleyball national youth team, Bonham won three straight National Championships and produced collegiate players at Ohio State, Texas, Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, Wake Forest and Grand Canyon. Part of his duties at Mintonette also included working as a tier training coach, multi-level staff coach, coach mentor, skills and small group training coach, and beach coordinator as well as teaching private lessons.

Bonham's collegiate coaching career included stops at Tiffin University, Owens Community College, and Heidelberg University in an assistant role. He also found success at a few northwest Ohio high schools including Fremont Ross, Buckeye Central and Tiffin Columbian where he amassed a 120-55 record over seven years with one Regional Championship and one Final Four appearance. During that span, Bonham earned four conference and two District Coach of the Year honors. Prior to his head coaching stint, Bonham worked as a volunteer coach at Hopewell-Loudon High School where he helped the Chieftans to five straight state championships from 1997-2001.
