Blazquez Awarded Mercy Health Athlete of the Month

Each month, UNOH is teaming up with Mercy Health to award an Athlete of the Month based on their athletic and academic performance as well as being a positive representative for UNOH and UNOH Athletics. Each month's winner will be presented with a T-Shirt from Cappy's Sportswear and a $25 gift certificate from Lock 16 Steakhouse. Nominees are presented by their respective coaches and voted on by the UNOH Athletic Training staff and Athletic Administration.

For the month of October, the award has been given to Patricia Blazquez of the women's soccer team for her outstanding performance throughout the month. As just a freshman, Blazquez has been a leader on and off the pitch and saw her offensive game explode in October. She scored seven of her eight goals this season over eight games in the month as the team went 6-1-1 with five clean sheats while outscoring opponents 20-4 during that span. Blazquez highlighted the streak with her first career hat trick in a 5-0 win over Cleary. From goal one to goal three, just three minutes and five seconds of game time elapsed giving her the fastest hat trick in program history coming less than eight minutes into the match, also the quickest on record (7:57). Blazquez also added two assists giving her 16 total for the month of October.
