Cabell and Grau Sweep Baseball Players of the Week
For the fourth time this season, a UNOH duo has swept the weekly baseball awards the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced on Monday.
Zach Cabell picked up a program record third Pitcher of the Week honor after one of the most dominant pitching displays in program history. In game two against Lourdes on Friday, the senior slinger tossed his second consecutive complete game shutout of the year with a career best 14 strikeouts over seven innings on the bump. It marks the program's most strikeouts in a game since 2021 and the second most ever in a seven-inning contest while allowing just three hits and one walk.
Cesar Grau joined Cabell for the second time this year thanks to a powerful display over two games against the Gray Wolves. In game one, the junior transfer launched a pair of homers and drove in half the Racers' runs in a 10-0 shutout of Lourdes. Grau added two more hits and two more RBI in a 12-0 game two to finish off the week 5-8 at the dish. He averaged .625 with a 1.375 slugging percentage over the two games while extending his team-leading hit streak to eleven games. During that stretch, the Venezuelan native has logged multiple hits eight times with a .579 batting average.
The 2026 Baseball Racers continue to add to their program record and now boast ten of 18 total weekly conference honors this season.
