Racers Storm Back to Steal 80-78 Win Over Aquinas

LIMA, OH - In a game of huge momentum shifts, UNOH came out on top thanks to a three-point dagger with just five seconds left to take the win over Aquinas, 80-78.

The Racers came out hot going up 18-2 just six minutes into the game. They maintained a double-digit cushion most of the first half before Aquinas hit a 13-5 run to cut the lead to just two with 92 seconds remaining. After trading baskets, UNOH held a 36-34 lead at the break. The Saints took their first lead of the game, 38-37, at the 19:07 mark of the second half and the game stayed tight over the next seven minutes. Momentum shifted again in the Saints' favor with an 11-2 run to take their largest lead of the game, 73-63. The Racers erased that lead in just over three minutes of game time to pull within one, but couldn't get their noses in front. After a Racer timeout with just 16 seconds left, Kahlil Davis banged a three-point jumper to give UNOH their first lead since the 17:38 mark of the second half setting up one final chance for Aquinas. The Saints got the ball up the floor quickly but UNOH's DJ Bogay rejected the final shot of the game to give the Racers the 80-78 win.

Kahlil Davis led the team in scoring with 22 points, shooting 6-12 from the field and 5-8 from outside. Cedric Delancy, Jr. put up a career high 18 points on 6-11 shooting from the field and 4-6 from long range. Delancy also led the team with seven rebounds and six assists adding two steals, and two blocks. Ryan Archey scored 13 and Jayden Priddy-Powell finished with eleven off the bench.

Next up for UNOH will be a trip to Garth Pleasant Arena to face Rochester on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 PM.
