Racers Can't Find the Winning Gear at UM-Dearborn
DEARBORN, MI - A late push gave UNOH a chance on the road, but UM-Dearborn managed to hold off the comeback handing the Racers a 100-88 loss.
After leading for most of the first eight minutes of the ball game, UNOH surrended the lead for the final time with 11:07 left to play in the first half. The Wolverines blew the game open with a 17-4 run and led 51-39 at the break. UNOH cut the lead to eight twice to start the second half, but couldn't get any closer as UM-Dearborn kept them at arms length. After the Wolverines took their largest lead of the game, 85-62, the Racers tried to make it interesting again rattling off a 17-3 run of their own to cut the lead to single digits with 3:34 left to play. However, their efforts fell short as UM-Dearborn fended off the comeback holding on for the win.
Ryan Archey led the team with a game and season high 37 points, the program's most in a game since 2020 (Elijah Pughsley - 38). Archey had a historic shooting night hitting 16 of 22 attempts from the field, a seaon high 73%. His 16 made field goals sets a new program record, topping the previous mark of 15 that has been matched twice but stood since November 12, 2011 (Jake Bolyard). Archey also finished one rebound short of a double-double grabbing a team high nine boards with two assists and two steals.
Kahlil Davis finished with 17 points and Jayden Priddy-Powell added ten off the bench.
UNOH will wrap up the 2023-24 season at home Saturday, February 24 when they face Indiana Tech (17-10, 15-6) on Senior Day.
