UNOH Men Rebound with Win Over Lourdes

LIMA, OH - After taking their first loss since December 7 on Wednesday, UNOH men's basketball got back on track with an 83-77 win over Lourdes on Saturday. The Racers are now 8-2 in their last ten, the program's best ten-game stretch since 2016-17.

The teams traded blows in the first half with the Racers controlling the first ten minutes and Lourdes taking over the second ten before settling in to a four-point game, 41-37, at the break. UNOH tied things up at the 16:26 mark of the second half and the game pulled tight with three lead changes and seven ties over the next 13 minutes despite the Racers going up by as many as nine during that stretch. Tied at 71-71 with 304 to play, UNOH doubled up Lourdes 12-6 including a perfect 6-6 at the free throw line to ice the game and finish off the win.

Ryan Archey finished with a game high 24 points shooting 9-17 (53%) from the field with a career high seven assists. Jayden Sims added 14 points on 5-10 shooting hitting 3-7 from outside. Grant Pikkaart recorded his first double-digit performance since November while matching his season best with six rebounds. Antonio King tallied his fourth double-double of the season scoring ten points with a season high eleven rebounds and Alex Benson put up eleven off the bench.

The Racers won the rebound battle 38-32 and turned nine turnovers into 19 points while holding Lourdes to just four off ten.

After a week off, UNOH will hit the road for two straight against (RV) Cornerstone Saturday, January 18 before traveling to Lawrence Tech Wednesday, January 22.
