LIMA, OH - UNOH men's basketball controlled the game from start to finish Saturday afternoon trailing for just 31 seconds as they ran away from Aquinas, 89-71.
The two teams traded blows over the first ten minutes of the game, but the Racers got their noses in front, 17-15, at the 10:48 mark and never trailed again. UNOH used a 12-3 run to take their largest lead of the half, 40-31, holding Aquinas at bay for a 40-33 lead at the break.
The lead hovered around the ten-point mark before the Racers pieced together a 14-6 run that put them up 16 and sealed the night. UNOH pushed the lead up to as many as 20 as they continued to control both ends of the court to snap a three-game losing streak.
Ryan Archey led the team with 22 points shooting 8-15 from the field adding four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Antonio King had a strong all-around performances bagging 21 points on 6-11 shooting while pulling down seven rebounds, grabbing four steals and dishing out four assists. Caleb Chapman and Alex Benson chipped in eleven and ten, respectively, off the bench.
The Racers shot 51% as a team from the field knocking down eleven three pointers while holding the Saints to 40% and 0-15 from outside. THey turned 14 turnovers into 20 points while giving up ten and twelve.
UNOH will host their fifth of five straight home games on Wednesday, February 5 against Madonna.
