LIMA, OH - UNOH men's basketball had their most efficient offensive performance in the last eight games Wednesday night, but they still couldn't keep pace with the top team in the conference falling 105-83 to Madonna.
The Racers were slow out of the gate falling behind 25-10 in the first nine minutes, but they played even the rest of the half to trail 53-38 at the break. The first six minutes of the second half belonged to UNOH as they battled back within four with 14:40 left to play. The teams traded a few baskets but the Crusaders came alive and exploded for 16 straight points over the next four minutes to blow the game open, 80-60. The Racers got as close as 14 down the stretch but Madonna answered again and closed out the win.
Grant Pikkaart had a career night shooting a blistering 82% from the field for a career best 21 points. Alex Benson shot 62% off the bench scoring 13 of his 19 points in the second half. Antonio King and Caleb Chapman both recorded a double-double in the game. It was King's seventh of the season finishing with twelve points and ten rebounds while Chapman logged his first with ten points and a career high 13 boards.
UNOH will try to snap a five-game losing streak on the road with a trip to Defiance on Saturday, February 7.
