ANN ARBOR, MI - After being held scoreless in the first half, UNOH men's soccer rallied to score twice in the second to take down Concordia, 2-0.
Opportunities were hard to come by in the first half with just three combined shots on goal heading into the break. That trended continued almost 15 minutes into the second before the Racers finally broke the deadlock in the 60th minute. Eguzki Hashimoto connected with Natxo Sanchez just outside the penalty box and got the ball right back streaking towards the goal. Hashimoto took the through ball in stride beating his mark and side stepping the keeper before flicking it into the back of the net. The clinching goal came in the 77th minute after UNOH built pressure in their attacking third. Reece Benjamin attempted a low cross from the left side of the box but it was cut off by a Cardinal defender. The ball deflected out but landed right at the feet of Natxo Sanchez who took one touch and finished across the keeper's face and into the bottom corner for his team leading sixth goal of the season.
Alexandre Torres picked up his third clean sheet of the season going the full 90 making one save on the only Concordia shot on goal.
UNOH returns to Racer Stadium to take on Lourdes on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
