Another Four-Goal Second Half Pushes UNOH Past UMD

LIMA, OH - After UNOH fell behind in the first half Wednesday, they had to battle back in the second but exploded for three goals in four minutes en route to a 4-1 win over UM-Dearborn.

UM-Dearborn scored the game's first goal in the 26th minute on just their second shot of the game, but it would be their last for 61 minutes as UNOH locked down defensively and went to work on offense. The lone goal held the difference until the 64th minute when Leonard Assouan sent a perfect ball on the ground to Zakaria Shabir right in front of goal and he poked it past to level the match. Just 70 seconds later, the Racers struck after Eguzki Hashimoto drove deep into the box and laid the ball up for Calum Loomes who sent it into the opposite top corner. UNOH kept up the pressure on the offensive end and worked a third goal only three minutes later. Loomes dropped the ball next to the far post from the top of the box finding Aimar Lezana. Lezana shielded the ball from a defender and lifted over the keeper and into the net. UNOH would add one more for good measure in the 89th minute as Loomes showed off his distrubution again directing a cross from the left wing straight to the head of Alfie Roffey who finished the job and gave the Racers a 4-1 win.

UNOH dominated the day in most statistical categories racking 29 total shots and 14 corner kicks to just three and one for the Wolverines. Jack Cook (2-2-0) went the distance making two saves to pick up the win.

The Racers will host again on Saturday when Cornerstone visits Lima for a doubleheader with the women's team at 1:00 PM followed by the men at 4:00 PM.
