Women's Basketball: Wolverines Best Racers

DEARBORN, MI – UNOH (8-7 4-5) led by five with a little more than four minutes to play only to see UM-Dearborn (5-13, 2-8) outscore the Racers 10-4 the rest of the way to pull out a 55-54 upset in Saturday afternoon's action at the Matthaei Center.

The first quarter was dominated by the Racers' hot shooting jumping out to a 22-5 lead after one. Quarter two saw the Racers offense carrying on momentum to a 31-16 advantage at the break. The Racers continued to hold the Wolverines at bay in the third, building the game's largest lead of 19 points. UM-Dearborn wouldn't go away, though, cutting the Racers' lead to 46-37, with the help of a 21-7 run, heading into the final stanza. The Wolverines kept battling back and took their first lead of the game at 51-50 with 02:57 left in the game. UM-Dearborn scored their final four points at the charity stripe to pull off the 55-54 comeback upset.

Jada Haines (SR/Akron, Ohio) led the Racers with a game-high 20 points, shooting 45% (9-20) from the field. Haines brought down six rebounds and had three steals. Mar Marata Crespo (SR/Girona, Spain) collected another game-high grabbing eleven boards for the Racers.

As a team, the Racers' offense outperformed the Wolverines shooting 39% in the game while holding UM-Dearborn to 32%.
