Women's Basketball: Racers Drop Regular Season Finale

LIMA, OH - In the final game of the regular season, it was Rochester (18-10, 16-4) getting the best of UNOH (13-15, 8-12) 94-79.

The first quarter went back and forth with both offenses firing on all cylinders. The largest lead of seven points went in favor of the Racers, but it was just a two point advantage, 26-24, when the frame ended. UNOH never trailed in the second and put up another 26-point quarter to lead 52-45 at the break. With the Racers leading 54-47 in the third, Rochester put together a massive 19-4 run spanning almost five minutes and took control of the game with an eight-point lead. UNOH managed to cut the lead to seven with just over seven minutes to play, but the Warriors continued to pour it on as they pulled away for the 15-point win.

After becoming the single-season scoring leader Thursday night, Jada Haines (SR/Akron, Ohio) added 22 more to lead all scorers. Ana Montero Sanz (SO/Madrid, Spain) recorded her fourth 20+ point outing in her last five games. Montero shot 7-12 from the field while knocking down four triples. Trinity Black-Raines (JR/Beecher, Michigan) shot 67% (8-12) from the field for 19 points while Mar Marata Crespo (SR/Girona, Spain) finished perfect for the game with ten points.

As a team, UNOH shot 50% from the field and 42% from outside.

The Racers' 13 regular season wins is the program's most since 2015-16. They will make their first trip to the WHAC Tournament since 2018 as the 7-seed squaring off against 2-seed Siena Heights Wednesday night, February 22.
