Women's Basketball Snaps Losing Skid with Win Over KZOO

LIMA, OH - After dropping five straight, UNOH women's basketball got back in the win column with a 101-66 win over Kalamazoo.

The Racers didn't waste any time taking control of the game jumping out to a 12-2 lead just three minutes into the game. The Hornets managed to cut the lead to four in the first quarter, but that was as close as they would get throughout the game. UNOH expanded their seven-point first quarter lead to 13 at halftime and took less than five minutes in the third to mount a 21-5 run to balloon the lead to 29. A 31-point quarter put the Racers up 79-51 heading into the final frame. UNOH matched their first quarter effort in the fourth to finish off the night with their third triple-digit performance of the season, the program's most since 2015.

UNOH shot 52% from the field and 81% from the charity stripe as a team, both the highest since game one of the season. The Racers forced 27 turnovers while giving up just 13, the second lowest of the year.

Alysia Lawson led the team with 24 points giving her 20+ in nine of eleven games this season. Lawson was 6-15 (40%) from the field and hit nine of ten free throw attempts with five rebounds, four steals and three assists.
