Racers Score Triple-Digits in Blowout Road Win
WYOMING, MI - UNOH women's basketball rolled to a 116-56 victory Tuesday night at Grace Christian.
The Tigers scored the first basket of the game but it was followed by a 20-0 run for the Racers and they didn't trail again. UNOH held Grace Christian to just eleven points in the first quarter and continued their offensive production scoring 32 in the second to finish with a 30-point advantage at halftime.
The Racers added 32 more in the third and 24 in the fourth limiting the Tiger offense to just 26 second half points running away for the big win.
Seven different Racers scored double-figures led by Alysia Lawson's 25. Lawson matched the program record hitting seven three pointers finishing 9-13 from the field (69%) adding seven rebounds and four assists. Olivia Thompson came off the bench to score 16 points with five assists while Evette Lansing did the same with 14 points and a team best eight boards. Ameena Muhammad added 13, Alycia Patterson put up twelve and both Ana Montero and Jayci Allen both finished with ten.
As a team, UNOH set a new program record with 19 three-pointers made hitting 46% of attempts, the program's third best shooting performance. The Racers shot 52% from the field turning 25 Tiger turnovers into 42 points while controlling the glass 40-32.
UNOH will return home to face Miami-Middletown in a double-header with the men's team Thursday night before wrapping the the week at Great Lakes Christian on Saturday.
