Concordia Hands UNOH First Conference Loss

ANN ARBOR, MI - UNOH women's basketball saw a six-game winning stream come to an end on Saturday after taking a 76-64 loss to Concordia.

Offense was hard to come by in the first half with the two teams combining for just 52 total points in four-point game at the break. That cushion continued halfway through the third period before the Cardinals opened up a 13-5 run to go up 13 and never looked back. UNOH got within eight points three times in the fourth but Concordia responded each time to push it back into double-digits holding the Racers at arms length through the final buzzer.

Alysia Lawson led UNOh with 19 points shooting 6-13 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line. Jayce Allen scored 15 and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the team while Olivia Thompson chipped in ten off the bench. Alycia Patterson scored eight in the game pushing her to over the 1,000 career point including her time prior to transferring to UNOH.

The Cardinals led for all but 1:37 of game play dominating on the glass, 41-29, while turning 18 Racer turnovers into 17 points. UNOH forced 16 turnovers of their own but created just five points off the transition.

The Racers return home to wrap up 2024 taking on Siena Heights on Wednesday, December 18 at 5:30 PM.
