Volleyball: UNOH Falls in Four to Lourdes

LIMA, OH - UNOH volleyball (7-7, 0-2) dropped their second league match of the season on Wednesday, September 14, against Lourdes (6-3, 2-0).

After the Racers took the first set 25-20, the Grey Wolves responded winning three straight 25-20, 25-15, 25-22.

Elli Roetgerman (FR/New Bremen, Ohio) led all players with 17 points in the match. She hit .314 with 16 kills and a solo block. Logan Thomas (SO/Johnstown, Ohio) recorded 15 points with eight kills, five service aces and two solo blocks. Hannah Colquitt (FR/Cleveland Heights, Ohio) matched her career high with ten kills, hitting .450 in the match with a solo block. Casey Kingsland (SO/Blanchester, Ohio) earned a match high 18 assists and Savanna Reed (FR/Columbia City, Indiana) finished with 16. Aubree Ricketts (JR/Plainfield, Illinois) led the team with 14 digs.

"Hannah had a night for us," said Head Coach Josh Kreiner. "She only had one error on 20 swings. I can't ask for much more than that. It was also great to have Elli [Roetgerman] back at full capacity for the first time since last August. In her first full night in over a year, I thought she played well."

UNOH out-killed the Grey Wolves 44 to 42 in the match hitting .146 as a team. The Racers also earned 38 total assists and six total blocks.

"While I thought we played really well at times, we also didn't play well at other times," Kreiner continued. "Serve-receive is something we've worked on and tonight it let us down. It's hard to build momentum when you give up free points. I think we let one get away tonight, but we have to have short memories and go get the next one."

The next one will be at Concordia on Friday, September 16 before the Racers head to UM-Dearborn on Saturday.
