Racers Go Down in Three at SHU

ADRIAN, MI - UNOH volleyball played tight with Siena Heights, but couldn't take a set falling 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-21).

 

The Racers were chasing game one from the start after falling behind 14-2. A 13-4 run at the end of the set made the score 23-18, but the Saints finished off the final two to go up 1-0. Game two went back and forth with 15 ties and eight lead changes before Siena Heights flipped a 22-20 deficit into a 24-22 lead taking the second set of the night. UNOH had to dig themselves out of a hole again in the third game after falling behind 9-2 out of the gate. The Racers battled back to tie the game at 17 as the match hung in the balance. The game went back and fourth until it was 21-21, but the Saints scored the final four to earn the sweep.

Elli Roetgerman led the team with 11.5 points recording eight kills on 16 attacks with two errors (.375) adding three service aces and a block assist. Abigail Martin was the only other Racer in double figures finishing with 10.5 points off ten kills and a block assist. Savanna Reed ended with 30 assists and Aubree Ricketts led the team with 15 digs.

 

After three straight on the road, UNOH will return to the Garage for a weekend double-header against Rochester Friday night, September 29, and Lawrence Tech Saturday.
